Royal Clan and Elite Gaming Channel join together to bring you the Helter Skelter, a first-of-its-kind 2v2 tournament with random maps, civilizations, and teams! Click the image above for more information and rules.

Important Dates:

  • 29 April: Tournament administrators will reveal the top 16 players that are participating in the tournament. Event will be streamed to show the random wheel spinning to determine teams, civilizations, and maps (for the ENTIRE tournament). Teams will be selected at random. Civilizations will be selected randomly from each player’s civ pool. Maps will be selected randomly. All teams, matchups, civs, and maps will be known on this date. Commence practice and scheduling for first round.
  • 30 April - 10 May: All matches and streams will take place so as not to conflict with the upcoming ESOC AOE3 Global Championships. Every effort should be made to complete the tournament during this time period.

Format:

  • The tournament will consist of 16 players playing 2v2 matches (8 teams).
  • There will be three rounds (Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Finals).
  • Quarterfinals are BO3.
  • Semifinals are BO3.
  • Finals are BO5.
  • The total prize is $400, with the 1st place team collecting it entirely.

Civilization Rules:

  • Each player on signup will nominate 6 civilizations (no restrictions or specific civ bans) to be added to their civ pool. On 29 Apr, the random wheel will pick the order in which the player plays their civs (i.e. USA – R1G1, Brits – R2G1, Dutch – R2G2, …).
  • The players have voted through a majority and Sweden is BANNED.

Map Rules:

Scheduling and Other Rules:

  • The players have voted through a majority and there will be NO FEEDING before the first 4 minutes of a game. This includes crate gathering.
  • Once a date/time is agreed upon by all players for a particular match, everyone must make their best effort to show up on time. There will be a penalty for inexcusable delays as follows:
  • Quarterfinals – If a match is delayed by 30 min., the team causing the delay will forfeit.
  • Semifinals – If a match is delayed by 1 hr., the team causing the delay will forfeit.
  • Finals – If a match is delayed by 1 hr., the team causing the delay will forfeit.
  • If any conflict arises during the tournament, tournament admins will discuss potential remedies and hold a vote on outcomes. NO tournament admins will take place in the tournament and no player actively playing in the tournament will have ANY say in committee actions.
